20. The Hiawathans were a fleet of passenger trains operated by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Pacific railroad (aka The Milwaukee Railroad). The trains operated between Chicago and various Midwest and west coast cities 1936-1970 - The Manitowish Waters Chamber of Commerce 1938 visitors guide included a promotional ad with a picture of one of the Hiawatha locomotives. The map included shows the Northwoods Hiawatha came as far north as Minocqua. Many early visitors and summer residents traveled to the Northwoods on the Hiawatha.
