2. Bart's Rest Lake Resort 1944-1958 - Located on the southeast end of Rest Lake near the Rest Lake Channel, across from the airport. Owned by Jim and Berniece Bart. Previously was Mitchell's Rest Lake Resort. Record includes ads in Chamber of Commerce guide and classified For Sale ads. Barts sold to Ken Lyons in approx. 1958 and the property was renamed Life of Riley.

3. Cabin at Bart's Rest Lake Resort 1944-1958 - Located on the southeast end of Rest Lake near the Rest Lake Channel, across from the airport. Owned by Jim and Bernice Bart. Postcard reads "Bart's" with an address of Manitowish, WI, so must be the 1940s; the resort was owned by Bernice's parents, the Mitchell's, until 1944 and Manitowish Waters got a post office in 1951.

5. Miscellaneous news clippings about Peter Vance and his family. 1884-1943 - Referenced are his two wives, children, mother and siblings. Clipping also reveal Vance's movements around and occupations in the Northwoods. Included are excerpts from Bud Smith's 1991 interview transcript recalling Peter and Sarah Vance.

6. Mitchell's Rest Lake Resort. 1911-1943 - Included in the record are news clippings of a resort ad, farm land for sale and obituraries for Ed and Anna Mitchell. They sold the resort to Jim and Bernice Bart in 1943.

7. News clippings referencing Peter Vance's Resort, aka Rest Lake Resort. 1896-1903 - Per Rosetta Plunkett Wysocki's 1973 interview with historian Michael Dunn, Vances' "resort" was located on the south shore of Rest Lake, what would later become Joe Ilg's Resort. It was more of a lodge or hotel than a resort. In 1903, Vance leased the resort to A.R. Andrews, however it burned down that year. Note: The Mitchell's opened a resort on the southwest corner of Rest Lake in 1912, also named Rest Lake Resort.
