5. Circle Lily Bar under ownership of Ray and Ginny Newbold. ca 1950-1962 - The Newbolds hosted many community and family events at Circle Lily as evidenced by the attached news clippings. The Newbolds purchased the business from Louie and Clara Laffin on land contract. During their ownership the highway got moved from the river's edge to it current location, cutting through their property. Per documents, the Laffins applied for a liquor license in 1962, indicating they got the property back.

6. Circle Lily Lodge advertisements Proprietors: Lois Fink and Marge Feht. 1963-1967 - Lois and Marge were factory workers from Chicago. They defaulted on the Circle Lily property but returned to pay off their debts according to historian Jim Robinson. Louis and Clara Laffin got the property back from the default on the land contract sale. Dan Sawicki, a car deal from Rochelle, IL, purchased the property with the intent to use it as a private lodge for family. Sawicki didn't own it long; in 1967 he sold the resort to Ed and Carol Dimmick, though his family did continue to vacation there.

7. Circle Lily Lodge. Built by Louis (Louie) Laffin. 1933-1950 - Louie built this resort and tavern just down the road from the new CCC Camp Mercer at a time when only 3.2 beer was sold. Originally called the Wayside Inn .

9. Circle Lily Lodge sold to Beranek's 5/1/1975 and burned down on 1/19/1976 - Edward and Carol Dimmick sell Circle Lily Lodge to Roy and Cheryl Beranek (or Branik). The restaurant burns down on 1/19/1976. The Beranek family was uninjured but all possessions were lost. A benefit dinner was held at Art LaHa's Bear Bar in Winchester.
