Lois and Marge were factory workers from Chicago. They defaulted on the Circle Lily property but returned to pay off their debts according to historian Jim Robinson. Louis and Clara Laffin got the property back from the default on the land contract sale. Dan Sawicki, a car deal from Rochelle, IL, purchased the property with the intent to use it as a private lodge for family. Sawicki didn't own it long; in 1967 he sold the resort to Ed and Carol Dimmick, though his family did continue to vacation there. |
