1. Article about the history of Beaumont's (aka Belter's) Island Resort and tavern on Stone Lake. 1904-1960 - The island was best know for the tavern where there was plenty of entertainment. Customers needed to ring the bell for the launch to pick them up from the mainland. Previous owners were Ed McGuire (1904), a boys camp, Koerner's, Doriots (Cedar Lake Lodge- ca 1916), and Hungers Cedar Lodge Resort (ca 1926-1931).

8. Camp Thunderbolt on Rest Lake 1948-1952 - Norman H. "Jack" and Dorothy Dengel started the camp in 1948 after purchasing the property from Charles Nash. Dorothy sold it to the Waukegan YMCA in 1952 after Jack's untimely death in February 1951. The camp become known as Camp Jorn.

16. "Keego" estate on Big Lake owned by prominent Chicago lumber merchant, A. Shreve Badger 1908-1929 - Possibly the first settlement on Big Lake <1893. Thought to have been previously owned by the Laflin family from Chicago. A.S. Badger sells the summer camp in 1929 to a group of Chicago businessmen, including Laurance Armour. They rename the property "Lake Keego" club.

19. "Manitowoc Club on Big Lake since 1893" by reporter Liza Tuttle- North Star Journal 8/7/1985 - The Manitowoc Club began as a private hunting and fishing club for a group of Manitowoc, WI men. Joseph Koenig managed to retain his ownership through the Great Depression and the property has been passed down through the generations to his family members (Ellis family, Mordvinoff family). The Mordvinoff/Barrett family still owned the property in 2023. The article includes the story about the 1922 murder on Big Lake.

20. News clipping about famous actor and dancer Julia Hanks instructing at Keego Lodge in 1921. - The A.S. Badger family owned the Keego Lodge from 1908-1929 using it as a family summer "camp". In 1917 they opened Badger's Girls Camp on the property.
