  10. Well pump found in the woods about 100 feet off of Fawn Trail. 5/2021 - Remarks per historian Jim Bokern: The pump seems to be an addition to a well point. Note the new pipe and pipe dope that are on the connecting pieces for the original point and the old pump. The pumps location is more than 600 yards from a documented logging camp on Fawn lake. Sometimes, loggers put their bunk houses and cook shanties away from landings. According to Michael Dunn Fawn lake was the last site of a logging camp that may have boomed logs by water to railroad hoists. The end date for this booming of logs would be c1915. The reason why I am trying to connect the logging with the pump are the berms that are in the pump image. Berms were used to winterize structures during the logging era. No railroads were documented on that part of the chain, but they could easily be skidded by road or hauled by water to the rail line that followed HWY K.

  20. Win-Mar Tavern ca 1961 - Owned by the "Win-Mar girls", Winnie Young and Marie Zimmerman. They sold the tavern and seven cabins along Vance Lake to Charlie and Inez Pea in 1961. The Peas renamed the tavern in 1964 to The Pea Patch.
