5. Alderwood Lodge on Alder Lake. 1944-1948 - Edward and Cora Scotten purchased the property in October 1944 from Edmund Kmentt who ran the resort as the Chain-O'-Lakes Lodge. MW Chamber of Commerce guides advertise the resort as Alderwood Lodge. The resort sign lists Scotten as owners and T. Willett as manager.

8. Bartling's Alderwood Resort 1988- - Purchased by Bartling's Manitowish Cranberry Co. from the estate of Floyd & Baye Christensen in 1988. Mike and Barbara Bartling operated the property as a seasonal resort until 2015 when son David and daughter-in-law Becca took over management. A year round lake front home was added to the short-term rental pool in 2018.

13. Buck's early camping outposts. 1903-1904 - George Buck and son Fayette operated the Divide Resort on the Turtle Lakes and Spider Lake Resort on the Manitowish Chain. They used outposts, as seen on Fayette's maps included in this record, to offer guests side trips away from the resort.

14. Chain-O'-Lakes Lodge on Alder Lake. 1938-1944 - Owned by Mr. & Mrs. Edmund Kmentt of Chicago, IL until 1944 when sold to Mr. & Mrs. Edward Scotten, also from Chicago. The property name was then changed to Alderwood Lodge. Kmentts stayed active in the community and continued to live on Alder Lake. They opened Lakeland Sporting Goods retail shop in the late 1940s.
