4. A steam engine pulling cars through the woods near Winegar, WI. ca 1915 - The logging town of Fosterville was established in 1905. Upon sale to W S Winegar in 1910 it was renamed Town of Winegar. In 1955 the name was changed to Town of Presque Isle.

8. Dr. & Mrs E.A. Flancher and the Peggy Line by Michael Dunn 1913-1955 - This is Micheal Dunn's recollection of his interactions with Dr. Edwin A.and Louisa Flancher who had a summer home at Balsam Point on Manitowish and Little Manitowish Lakes. The narrative discusses how the Flancher's house was built and summer life on the property.He recalls Mrs. Flancher talking about the "Peggy line" used by the logging companies that ran towards Alder Lake.

Tom Devine and Jack Luck walking along the main rail line to the lumber town of Buswell, passing the Papoose Jct. depot. ca 1912 - On the left is Tom Devine, Sr. a railroad engineer from Portage, WI. His bother Dan Devine Jr. lived on Clear Lake. The man on the left is Jack Luck, a friend of the Devine family. The Papoose Junction depot was along the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway tracks. The track leaving the main line behind the two men in the photo is a logging spur running west from Papoose Junction to Rest Lake. It was operated by the A.H. Strange Lumber Company. The log building is the depot where Agent Livenash was on duty. It is located on the northeast side of the wye. There were a couple of railroad cars located off the rails here. They were originally used as living quarters for George Gozline who was the first section foreman. Later the LIvenash family would live there.
