The FBI agents, expecting the occupants to be members of the Dillinger gang, mistakenly shot and killed Eugene Boisoneau and wounded John Morris and John Hoffman, all civilians.

CCC member Eugene Boisoneau was accidentally killed during the botched FBI raid at Little Bohemia in an attempt to capture John Dillinger and his gang. 4/1934 - The record includes a short description of Boisoneau's death, an image of his tombstone in Mellen, WI and a newspaper clipping discussing the proposed pay-out to his mother due the FBI's mistaken shooting.

Charley Pea talks about his naval service in World War II-- seeing Pearl Harbor after the attack and surviving the sinking of the USS Lexington at the Battle of the Coral Sea. 1941 - Newspaper article and informal interview was by reporter Del Cryer of The Herald (Crystal Lake, IL) while on a fishing trip to the area. Included is a brief mention of stopping at Little Bohemia.

Dedication speech given by Kay Krans at the unveiling of the historical roadside marker in Manitowish Waters on August 24, 2024. - Her speech tells the story of the FBI raid on Little Bohemia Lodge on April 22,1934 in an attempt to capture the Dillinger gang hiding out there. The historic marker commemorates the individuals wounded and killed by the gang as they made their escape.

Exclusive photos of the FBI Dillinger raid at Little Bohemia Lodge on 4/21/1934, taken by a Milwaukee Sentinel reporter. 4/1934 - The Dillinger girls captured at Little Bohemia hid their faces and gave false names to the authorities. The blonde woman was Jean Delaney (used the name Ann Southern). The woman with the wide blouse lapels was Helen Gillis, wife of Lester Gillis, aka Baby Face Nelson (used the name Marian Marr). The third woman was Marie Comforti (used the name Rose Anker).

Lee spent time in Three Lakes as well as MW. She attempted to purchase Camp Thunderbolt on Rest Lake, however owner, Mrs. Dengel, wanted the property to remain a summer camp, selling to YMCA Camp Jorn.
