1. Andrews Family, Manitowish, WI ca 1900 - Alexander Ramsey Andrews was born in Eau Claire, WI 1871 and died in a hotel fire in Hurley,WI in 1912. He and wife Emma had 3 children, Phyliss, Geraldine and Gordon. Emma and Phyliss were long time postmistresses at the Manitowish Post Office, where they lived. Geraldine and Phyliss were popular local musicians. Phyliss also owned Sunset Lodge on Manitowish Lake.

2. Arvid Seppala photos including an ad for Seppala's Cottages on Rest Lake. ca 1930s-1954 - Arvid lived on Rest Lake, current address 13828 Ilg Road (Long's). He was a mason and a guide. He would troll with silver spoon tackle and row all around Rest Lake. A frequent customer of his was Mr. Corson (owned what is now Murphy's, 6014 Zephyr Point Lane). Arvid was in charge of the timbers at the dam to control the lake level; he went through the dam twice!

7. Dan Devine Sr. - 1860 and 1900 US Census - Dan was born 1838 in Ireland, immigrating to the U.S. in 1848 (or 1843). He lived with his parents and siblings in Lewiston, WI at the time of the 1860 census. Dan moved to northern Wisconsin in the 1870s and married Kate Scott of Chippewa heritage in 1879. The 1900 census lists only a few of their children.

10. Fayette Buck obituary and photo of his second wife, Orpha Nokes Buck. 1964 - Fayette Buck 1874-1964. The Buck Family were pioneers in northern Wisconsin in the late 1800's. They owned and operated Buck's Spider Lake Resort in Manitowish Waters and the Divide Resort in Winchester. Fayette was quite a good woodsman in his younger years. MWHS archived several published articles about his Northwoods guiding and trapping adventures.

They had 3 children: Toivo, Art and Vienna. Andrew Nissila was born in Finland and came to the US in 1906. He married Miina in 1913 in Ironwood, MI and have five children: Jenny, Lillian (Lilja), Andrew, Sam and Matt. Andrew spoke broken English; Miina spoke only Finnish. Vienna Ruha married Arvid Seppala. Lillian married Charles Rayala Sr. Andrew and Miina lived on Rest Lake at current address of 13824 Ilg Road (Schott residence); the house was built by Irwin (or Guy) Roe and was identical to Adolf Mussatti's home.
