1. Alvin and Lorraine Koerner will assume management of the Oneida Hotel in Rhinelander, WI. March 1951 - Koerners were the second generation to own Koerner's Spider Lake Resort in Manitowish Waters. They sold the resort in 1954. Per this clipping they were also operating the Hotel Charles dining rooms (Marshfield, WI).

Two resort brochures with a property map are included. The resort was owned by Moose Ryberg 1945-1955 and then the Fehner's until 1969. Plumbing was installed after WW II.

17. Sherman's Waystation in Powell, WI near the Powell train depot. ca early 1900s - Located at the intersection of today's Powell Road and Sandy Beach Road. The Waystation had rooms to rent, a dining room, general store and post office. L to R: Frank Sherman, Herb Sherman, Vanard Sherman (boy), Susan Pukall Sherman (on porch), William J. Sherman, Ed Newarth, Wilhelmina Sherman, Lena Newarth. 1917 Homestead claim included.

18. The Happy Wanderer restaurant located on Highway 51 at the intersection with Tower Road. 1963- ca early 1970s - Owned by Marie and Don LaPorte. Marie established this business after she sold Marie's Soda Saloon located in the LaPorte's shopping center. The building no longer exists; current address of the location is 14285 Tower Road.
