7. Charles "Bud" Smith Jr. talks about the Smith family's history at their Olivida compound on Manitowish Lake in his 1986 recording. He shares many wonderful, and funny, family stories from over the years. 1915-1986 - Bud recorded these memories for his daughters, Ginny and Elizabeth. His recollections include what summer life was like in this area in the 1910s through the 1980s.

Lydia's Housekeeping Cottages (1941-1962), Hutter's Lake View Resort (1962-1990) and Hutter's Nystrom B&B(1991-1998) Manitowish Lake - This record includes a narrative by Lydia Hutter's niece and subsequent owner Brunhilde Nystrom detailing the history of this resort property. Her interview reveals the hard work that was required to operate an early resort as well as what young people did for fun. The property was originally built by Cap Smith in 1917-1919. 9. "Olivida" was the Charles "Cap" Smith seasonal family property on Manitowish Lake. Built in 1917 it was used mainly for family and friends however it was opened to rental guests occasionally. 1917-1953 - "Olivida" is the name of Cap Smith's wife, Olive Ida. For a short time in the mid 1920s the property was called "Kamp Khaki" and rented out to tourists. After that it was also rented out under the name "Olivida". In 1941 several of the cabins were sold to the Hutter's who established "Lydia's Housekeeping Cottages".

11. "Shanty on the Shore" rental cabin on Little Star Lake. 1988 - Owned by Olive (Smith) Ottoman and daughter Susan Nejdlik, this cabin was part of the Olivida property owned by the Smith family. Olive Ottoman's father was Milton Smith, brother to Olive Ida (Smith) Smith.
