4. Manitowish Waters Post Office 1951-1/24/1973 - Postmasters were Ted Daniels and then John Michaelis. Per Ellen Perkins, the first MW Post Office was housed in a cabin at Rudy's Rest Haven in October 1950.Ted Daniels built this building in the summer of 1951. Ellen worked at the Post Office for 40 1/2 years (1950-1971).

5. Manitowish Waters Post Office ca 1951 - Per Ellen Perkins' oral history interview, the first MW Post Office was housed in a cabin at Rudy's Rest Haven beginning in October 1950. Ted Daniels built this building in the summer of 1951 and rented it to the US Postal Service. Ellen worked at the Post Office for 40 1/2 years (1950-1971). Ted was the first Postmaster. 7. "Postmaster Spots Planes in Manitowish Waters Area" for reporting to the Ground Observation Corps in Green Bay. Rhinelander Daily News 3/3/1956 - Postmaster Ted Daniels spends time spotting airplanes to call into the Green Bay filter center for the past three years, serving as a supervisor of the Ground Observation Corps. The article includes a small history of the Manitowish Waters Post Office. Also included is a brief section for the US Air Force to recruit more airplane spotters in this post World War II era.
